Welcome to my blog

My name is Belinda Cook and I’m the photographer behind Garland Photography.

My passion is capturing the magic of every day in photos, especially that magic that exists within a family. That instant bond between a mother and her child, the curiosity and interaction between new siblings, the joy and wonderment that a newborn brings into every new family. I am thankful every single day that my passion is my full-time job.

I have two young boys of my own who you will see throughout this blog. I am so privileged to be able to capture so many special moments of their childhood in beautiful pictures.

Sessions can be held in the comfort of your home, my home studio or an outdoor location, there are so many stunning locations in Sydney!

As well as travelling all over Sydney for photoshoots, I also travel to the Central Coast, Newcastle and the South Coast (Nowra / Kangaroo Valley areas) throughout the
year, so if you are in one of these areas, please contact me to find out the next available dates.

I am a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (Emerging).

Thanks for visiting!

Another Gorgeous Baby Bump…{Sydney Pregnancy Photography}

Bobby first got in contact with me a few months ago to organise a gift voucher for his fiance as a surprise for her birthday (what a sweet guy, hey?!) From the very first contact I could tell how much Bobby adores Sharon, he was so excited for her to get these photos done, and rightly so, she is one absolutely stunning mummy-to-be. Bobby & Sharon, I really enjoyed our shoot, you are such a lovely couple and are going to be such wonderful parents, I can’t wait to meet your little girl in a few months time. Enjoy your sneak peek, it was so hard to cull images from this shoot! xxx

Storytime…{Sydney Child Photography}

It’s been a long time since I blogged my boys…I think the last time was Ashton’s first birthday, so almost 5 months to be exact! Both my boys love reading books, and today when Ashton woke from his nap all he wanted to do was sit in his chair and read his bedtime story, and big brother Ethan (almost 4!) was happy to join in. So I took the chance to snap some pics of my boys together, it’s not often either of them will sit still for me long enough to get a good photo, let alone at the same time.

Sneak peek of Little Miss Mataya…{Sydney Newborn Photography}

Isn’t Mataya such a pretty name for a little girl? I love it. I met this sweet little girl before she was even a week old.

I feel so privileged being one of the very first people that a new life connects with and watching how this little one gazed into her mummy and daddy’s eyes with recognition, already knowing how loved she is.

Thank you so much N & S for inviting me into your home to capture one of your very first days with Mataya, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I’ll be in touch with your gallery soon x

Sneak peek of Dimitri…{Sydney Baby Photography}

When I was younger I used to be really shy and absolutely dread meeting and making conversation with new people. So it came as a suprise to me recently when I realised that one of my favourite parts of this job is meeting new people and spending time getting to know them. I absolutely loved spending time with this family.  They are the lovliest people and are absolutely enamoured with their little boy. And how could you not be?

Sneak Peek: Double the Sweetness!…{Sydney Child Photography}

I was so excited to meet these little one year old twins. I love how although they are twins they are quite opposites! Miss Valentina with dark straight hair and very shy and Miss Eliana with lighter curly hair and a bolder personality. But both are extremely adorable and full of energy. Their mummy & daddy certainly have their hands full, but how much fun would it be to see these little ones grow up together!
